To keep our research practically focused, we offer companies and organisations all kinds of ways to access our expertise. Our research is wide-ranging — subject areas include everything from nursing, psychology and sports science to construction, robotics and business processes, but underlying all of it is the goal of creating new knowledge for practical purposes.

At LSBU, enterprise is a part of everything we do and we offer plenty of opportunities, many built into our courses through practical modules, internship and placement opportunities, and workshops and guest lectures.

Supporting your initiatives Our Student Entrepreneurship Support Service is a one-stop shop for advice about starting up a business and keeping it going — available to you before and after graduating. We also organise enterprise internships, giving you the chance to get involved in the workings of a small start-up.

If you have an idea you want to test, contact our Spark scheme. We also have a month Graduate Entrepreneur Scheme, which offers graduates funding, office space, training and specialist advice. The Centre offers highquality fully serviced offices for fledgling businesses and social enterprises, event facilities and retail space. It also includes a Business Solutions Centre and a Legal Advice Clinic, staffed by students, which both serve the local community.

The Business Solutions Centre and the Legal Advice Clinic provide the opportunity to observe and participate in the delivery of advice to local businesses and individuals.

The seven start-up businesses will receive six months of intensive support through mentoring and workshops delivered by investors, business experts and successful entrepreneurs.
